I’m an indie musician who handles every part of my music career myself. Not because I want to do everything, but because I’ve learned that if I don’t, no one else will. That includes my music admin. I’ve learned the hard way you have to stay on top of your registrations and metadata or things can get crazy and confusing to say the least! You have to track and double-check everything as it happens. Waiting until later usually means forgetting, getting busy, or realizing too late that something slipped and now you’ve quadrupled your workload.
Over the years, I’ve dealt with missing royalties, bad data, no or even missing data, and repeating work because the system is slow, unclear, or set up to run in circles.
While I was cleaning up my own catalog, it became clear just how much time and frustration this kind of system could save other artists too. I put countless hours into building the Indie Ghost Song Admin Master File so they wouldn’t have to. It’s straightforward on purpose, because this part of the process has been made more confusing than it needs to be. It’s worth far more than I’m charging, but I’m also an indie musician and I get it. You need tools that work, that respect your time, and that don’t drain your budget. No gatekeeping. No coaching. Just tools that keep things clean and help your music do what it’s meant to do: connect and earn.
